Privacy notice for business contacts

If you received a message from someone using Forgeby, or you were told your details are in our records, this page is for you. It explains what we hold, where it came from, why we hold it, and how to make it stop.

If you want out, stop reading here

Write to privacy@forj.se and say “opt out”. That is the whole process. No account, no login, no reason required, and you do not need a reply from us. We remove your contact details and record the objection so a later import cannot undo it.

1. Who we are

Forgeby is a service operated by Zmart Com West AB, Swedish organisation number 559019-9161, Gothenburg, Sweden. That company is in the process of changing its registered name to Forgeby AB. It is the same company either way, and it is the controller of the data described here, which means it decides what is held and why and is responsible for it.

For anything on this page: privacy@forj.se

2. What we hold

Business contact information about people in professional roles. For most people that is a name, a job title, the organisation you work for, a business email address, sometimes a business telephone number, and sometimes a link to a public professional profile.

We also hold information about your employer and its publicly visible technology. That is about the company, not about you.

We do not hold your home address, your personal email, your date of birth, your financial details, or anything about your health, beliefs, politics, trade union membership or private life. We do not profile you as an individual. Where we analyse anything, we analyse the company.

3. Where it came from

We are required to tell you our sources. There are four categories and we use all four.

We can tell you which of these your own record came from. Ask at privacy@forj.se.

4. Why we hold it, and on what legal basis

We use it to identify companies that may benefit from cloud services offered by our customers, who are technology partners, and to help those partners approach the right person at the right company.

Our legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The interest is operating a business-to-business service that connects suppliers with organisations plausibly in need of what they offer. We have assessed this against your interests and rights, and we limit what we hold to professional information in a professional context. You can ask us for that assessment.

5. Who else sees it

When one of our partner customers works an account, we make the relevant business contact details visible to that partner so one of their own people can get in touch personally. That partner then also holds a copy and is responsible for its own use of it.

We do not sell your data. We do not send bulk marketing email.

6. How long we keep it

For as long as the contact information remains professionally relevant, and we review it periodically. If you object, we keep only the minimum needed to make sure you are not added again.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Sweden that is IMY, and you may also complain in the country where you live.

Your right to object to direct marketing is absolute. If you tell us to stop, we stop. We do not ask why and we do not weigh it against anything. Write to privacy@forj.se.

8. Changes

If we change how any of this works, we update this page and change the date at the top.
